Max Silverstein (they/them) serves as an Overdose Prevention AmeriCorps VISTA Member for the SafeRx program at HIP. They earned a B.A. in Psychology and a B.S. in Astrophysics from UC Santa Cruz. During their undergraduate education, they worked with Student Health Services as a lead peer educator for topics such as alcohol and other drugs, harm reduction, sex education, and mental health. This experience sparked their passion for public health and led them to where they are today. They are excited to give back to the community that they now call home.
