ALAN McKAY, MPH

Alan McKay served as CEO of Central California Alliance for Health, a regional Medi-Cal health plan, from the plan’s inception in 1996 to his retirement in 2018.  During those years, Alan also participated in health consortia as Board Chair of the Health Improvement Partnership of Santa Cruz County (HIPSC), and of the Monterey Regional Health Development Group (MoreHealth), and as a Board Member of the Merced County Health Consortium. 

Prior to serving as the Alliance’s CEO, Alan was Director of Managed Care at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View and was a Manager in Ernst & Young’s health care consulting practice in San Francisco. 

Alan holds a BA from UC Santa Cruz (1976) and an MPH from UC Berkeley (1983).
