Sigolène Ortega is a bilingual (Spanish) and bicultural public health professional. Born in Oaxaca, Mexico, and raised in Santa Cruz, Sigolène is intimately familiar with the experiences of low-income, first-generation, farm working families. Sigolène graduated with BA's in Political Economy of Industrial Societies and Public Health from UC Berkeley (2007) and attained her MPH from the University of Washington's School of Public Health, Community-Oriented Public Health Practice (2015). Sigolène brings thirteen years of working across non-profit, academic, and healthcare settings, all focused on improving the lives and well-being of the communities served. Sigolène is committed to HIP's platform to "create opportunities for local health leaders to make our community healthier.
