Shruti is a recent graduate from the University of Richmond in Virginia, where she received her Bachelor of Arts with a major in PPEL (Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Law) and a minor in Healthcare Studies. She is from Florida and has spent the majority of her life on the east coast, and so is completely new to both California and the west coast. In college, Shruti discovered her passion for public health and addressing healthcare inequities both in the US and globally, and hopes to shape her future career goals around meaningful work in healthcare policy and accessibility. Following her year with AmeriCorps, Shruti plans to attend grad school where she aims to obtain a dual degree with a JD and Masters in Public Health. Shruti has had several internships in the legal and legislative fields, and is very excited to be working in this particular area of interest with the Health Improvement Partnership. In her free time, Shruti loves sightseeing and trying new restaurants and coffee shops, hiking, and working out (especially kickboxing). She also loves to travel and has visited close to 20 countries (and hopes to get back into it soon!).
