Keynote Speaker
Ysabel Duron
Ysabel Duron is the founder of The Latino Cancer Institute, a national network of Latino agencies dedicated to diminish cancer risk. An award-winning journalist, Duron’s current national work focuses on capacity building in racial and ethnic communities to partner in systems change to address inequities.

The pandemic has worsened pre-existing inequities in our communities of color. And yet, intersecting crises have also united us to innovate and construct new avenues to future work to close racialized inequities and support our communities to heal. We invite local residents; staff from health, education, business, and faith-based organizations; and policymakers to join HIP in exploring ways to address the root causes of health, economic, and social inequities. Come help shape an equitable future where all Santa Cruz County residents can prosper.
